Nosh Pit Weekly Planner February 26-March 4
This week: free pancakes (kind of), art meets food, and hogs meet hooch.
WEDNESDAY, February 26
Once again, Il Fornaio pairs an authentic Italian meal with Obelisco Estate wines. Chef Franz Junfa will be creating menu items such as insalata with Washington pears and arugula, house-made Italian sausage with mushroom sauce, and the entrée choice between wild sturgeon or lamb rack chops. Dinner is $60 without tax and gratuity. To make your reservations, call 206-264-0994 or visit the website.
Hogs and Hooch
Pork and whiskey, whiskey and pork. Local 360 has got the bases covered. The crew is roasting an entire pig and serving it in three courses. Starting at 5, the pig parts will be on a first come, first serve basis (the restaurant keeps track of inventory using a chalkboard). And to top things off, bourbon and moonshine will be served from local distiller 2 Bar Spirits. Get the installment for $30.
THURSDAY, February 27
Meet the Makers
Over in Maxime Bilet's Art for Food space, you'll find an extended calendar of interactive learning events. Like this get-together featuring folks from Miyabi 45th, Blind Pig's Charles Walpole, Taylor Shellfish, Theo Chocolate. Try out some eats, sip on some wines, and enjoy some live music. Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door, and available online. Stay tuned to the Facebook event page to keep updated on the evening line-up.
SATURDAY, March 1
Snoqualmie Ice Cream Shoppe Grand Opening
This little scoop shop is reopening its doors to a brand spanking new interior and some new fun menu items. Boozy shakes and floats, local beer and wine, and signature flatbreads and bowls will be available in addition to the ice cream flavors. Doors open at 11.
SUNDAY, March 2
So, you haven't seen Captain Phillips. That doesn't mean you should bypass these Oscar parties around town.
TUESDAY, March 4
Bars and restaurants are gearing up for everyone's favorite pre-Lenten party. We will be sharing some Fat Tuesday events later this week, but meanwhile here's where you can find king cake.
National Pancake Day at IHOP
Two words: free pancakes. Well, kind of. Come to any IHOP and get a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. Instead of tipping, diners are encouraged to leave a donation for the Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Come on, it's for the kids.
Bar Cantinetta is bringing a special dinner paired with wines from award-winning DeLille Cellars. Starting at 7, enjoy a four-course meal including citrus salad, house-made fennel sausage, and ricotta gnudi - all paired with selected wines. The dinner is $125 and seats are limited. Reservations can be made by calling 206-329-1501 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
