Recycled and Reused
Coming Soon: Goodwill on Cap Hill
Seattle vintage shoppers: brace yourselves. Deal-seekers: get ready! Northwest Recyclers: rejoice! Goodwill's Capitol Hill location arrives this spring.
Representatives say the spot will be 15,000 square feet, and will employ about 40 people sorting and selling clothing and accessories for kids and adults as well as home decor and housewares.
While there are obviously some good implications for the 'hood's vintage- and deal-loving hipster types, the organization's continuing growth is a good time to remember that it's not just a source of ironic sweaters and (hopefully!) cool old man overalls, but, a recycler of epic proportions—over 47 million tons last year—and a leading free job-training force for low-income and underserved Seattleites
