WEDNESDAY, January 8
New York, New York Auction and Dinner
SPORT Restaurant and Bar is hosting a silent auction with a New York-inspired dinner (in honor of the Super Bowl XLVII host city) to benefit Taste of the NFL's Kick Hunger Challenge. Here, bite on fresh baked pretzels and pizza while bidding on items such as Seahawks memorabilia, including a signed Russell Wilson football. Former Seahawk and musician Craig Terrill will be there with his band performing as well. Tickets are $50 and available online.
THURSDAY, January 9
Kurt Timmermeister with Dan Savage: ‘The Chronicle of a Farm-to-Table Meal’
The Stranger’s Dan Savage will be interviewing Kurt Timmermeister from Kurtwood Farms about his new book Growing a Feast: The Chronicle of a Farm-to-Table Meal at Town Hall starting at 7:30. Talk about his Vashon Island farm will also be sprinkled into the conversation. Tickets are $5 and available online.
Every day since its opening on December 3, 1996, this Lower Queen Anne lounge has been mixing classic American cocktails and making good-for-the-soul food. As a celebration and a ‘thank you’ to the community, the crew is celebrating Tini Bigs’ 6,247 consecutive day of business. All food and drinks will be a whopping $6.24 until 10.

Old Bawdy Vertical Tasting
Pike Brewing Company is allowing folks to dip into its archived barley wine in the Museum Room at the downtown pub from 6-9. This year, seven vintage barley wines will be available for sampling, including one that goes all the way back to 2007. As for the special offer of the evening, take home a 12-ounce bottle of the 2006 Old Bawdy Barley wine for $10. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and $15 for WABL and Pike Pub club members with passport.
SATURDAY, January 11
Beast Brunch at BOKA
Outfitted with a 70-inch flat screen TV, BOKA Kitchen and Bar will be hosting a special playoff brunch in its Studio 1000 space. This buffet-style brunch starts at 10 and will be a true breakfast of champions equipped with a bagel and lox station, pancakes, yogurt parfait, and more. The $25 pricetag includes one Bloody Mary, mimosa, or juice.
SUNDAY, January 12 and MONDAY, January 13
James Beard Rising Star Chef Gabriel Rucker of renown Le Pigeon in Portland will be visiting Seattle for a two-night stint celebrating his debut cookbook, Le Pigeon: Cooking at the Dirty Bird. On Sunday, January 12, Rucker will be in the Dahlia Lounge kitchen with chef Brock Johnson, preparing a five-course menu that includes dishes like a beef tongue Reuben and pretzel spaetzle, and signing copies of the book (6pm, $90). On Monday, January 13, Lark welcomes Rucker for a meal rich with foie gras, squab, and eel, in which both Le Pigeon and Lark cookbooks will be utilized (6pm, $95).
