Trace Dinner with Tiffany Derry
Bravo Top Chef contestant Tiffany Derry is teaming up with Trace chef Steven Ariel and a few very lucky Art Institute students to prepare a five-course dinner deemed “South Meets Pacific Northwest.” Get your $65 dinner ticket by calling 206-264-6060. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Trace and Art Institute Scholarship Fund.
Boka Grilling Class on the Patio
It’s not too late to hone those grilling skills for the last round of summer BBQs. Sign up for Boka’s grilling class, led by sous chef Kerri Roach on the Boka patio. Sunset Supper at the Market
Let’s face it—if you want to catch a panoramic sunset, the aptly-situated Pike Place Market is the place. And at the annual "Sunset Supper at the Market" take in the view while fundraising with local chefs, vintners, brewers, and roasters. Tickets are $85 in advance and all proceeds benefit the Market Foundation.
Champagne and Seafood Tasting at Fat Cork
Fat Cork and Narwhal (Renee Erickson’s mobile extension of her nautically themed spots) join forces for an event of epic proportions. Fat Cork will pair four of its Champagnes with Narwhal’s divine offerings—including fried oysters, trout salad, smoked herring, and cucumber-crab gazpacho. Tickets are just $15 (!) and must be purchased ahead of time. They'll go quickly.
Taste of Aragona at The VUDE
Jason Stratton's Aragona—slated to open in late September at First and Union—might be one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of the year (especially now that we know chef Carrie Mashaney will be on Top Chef). Here's your chance to get a sneak peek of some of the modern Spanish offerings that will be on the menu, like torreznos of deep-fried pork belly with brandy and sea salt. Tom Douglas is at it again with his renowned and cleverly named picnic-style fundraiser. It returns to Victor Steinbrueck Park for the second time this summer with a buffet-style salmon bake prepared by T-Doug himself. Proceeds from each $15 ticket go to the Seattle Parks Department. Get 'em while they last.

Planes, Trains, and Traveling Chefs: Jenn Louis
Matt’s in the Market has hosted a variety of critically-acclaimed visiting chefs all summer long as part of its second annual Planes, Trains, and Traveling Chefs series. Monday Movies at King’s Hardware: Anaconda
King’s continues to go big with another outrageous film night. This week’s Monday Movies pick is 1997’s Anaconda, recognized as one of Jennifer Lopez’s worst movies to date (but it's still better than Gigli.) Add Ice Cube as himself, and a ridiculous computer-animated snake, and you’ve got just the right amount of guilty pleasure to complement your burger and beer(s).
