11th Annual Rosé Revival and Cool Whites at Ray's
An entire evening of pink and white wine requires a suitably picturesque location, and Ray’s Boathouse is one of the best in town. Also a fundraiser for Save Our Wild Salmon, this celebration of rosè draws from over 30 Washington wineries.
THURSDAY, June 20
Chef Battle: Knock Out Summer Hunger
Pearl chef JJ Ullakko and Koral chef Simon Zatyrka are going head to head with other chefs from Bellevue Collection restaurants. But it’s not your traditional chef battle based around hardly pronounceable produce and obscure proteins. They’ll be making gourmet dishes solely from ingredients available at a food bank. All proceeds benefit Hopelink’s End Summer Hunger Program.
SoDo event space the Piranha Shop is ringing in summer with a party for food geeks. A $25 ticket buys you offerings from Pioneer Square restaurants, including Bar Sajor, Rain Shadow Meats, The Peoples Burger, and more. Dessert tasting and specialty cocktails from Ravishing Radish cap off the night.
FRIDAY, June 21
Summer Rosé Days Launch Party at Bottlehouse
I’d be hard-pressed to think of a better way to kick off summer than sipping on rosé on Bottlehouse's charming patio. The Madrona wine bar is launching its “Summer Rosé Days” series with a free tasting of 12+ rosés and a live DJ from 6pm until late. For the rest of the summer, Bottlehouse is offering 10 glass pours of various styles, in the name of education, of course.

Jim Drohman Cooks
Who can pass up free food, especially when it’s artfully prepared by the great Jim Drohman (Le Pichet, Café Presse)? It’s true—watch his cooking demonstration for Pike Place Market's Summer Sundays chef demos and you get to sample his dish afterward for the unbeatable price of $0.
MONDAY, June 24
Mark Sexauer's Aphrodisiac Book Launch
A local barman with a pretty impressive track record, shares his trade secrets with the world in his first book Aphrodisiacs with a Twist. It contains 100 recipes sorted by ingredient, as well as some stunning photos. The public book launch happens at Batch 206 Distillery from 5-8pm, and will—for now—be the only place to pick it up. The event is free, but RSVP is required.
