Stop in for a freebie at any location between 2 and 8. Well, technically if you go to Madrona or West Seattle, you'll get an ice cream sandwich instead of a scoop, but still—free!
FRIDAY, May 3
Food As Art
Food as Art celebrates its tenth Anniversary with 10 cocktails, 10 chefs, and 10 desserts, while honoring 10 community members. Catching on? The event honors culinary mastery of African American executive chefs and restaurateurs in the Seattle area and costs $150 at the Georgetown Ballroom.
SATURDAY, May 4
Fiesta 5k Ole and Taco Truck Challenge
Immediately following the 5k run that benefits the Hope Heart Institute, celebrate with The End 107.7 in the Jose Cuervo Margarita Garden with street tacos in hand. Racers get in for free, while nonrunners have to pay a $5 cover. Check out the Facebook page for more info.
Cuatro de Burro

Seattle Chocolate Salon
From 11 to 5 scarf down as much chocolate as you can at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center. Some of the finest chocolatiers and confectioners in North America will give demonstrations and offer tastings. Tickets cost $20, $10 for children ages 6 to 12.
Waterways Cinco de Mayo Cruise
What better way to celebrate the holiday than on a boat sipping margaritas to the sound of a mariachi band? Cruise across Lake Union and Lake Washington and munch on Mexican buffet food or build your own taco. Departing at 7:30, the cruise ride lasts two and a half hours and costs $49 (children 5 to 12 are $20).
Mobile Food Rodeo
The annual food truck congress (a sibling to the Seattle Street Food Festival coming this summer) brings 40plus food trucks together in Fremont for your face-stuffing enjoyment. Also added this year, a Taco Truck Showdown.

Berlin Reed: The Ethical Butcher
Find out how this former vegan ended up working at a butcher shop and then writing a book called The Ethical Butcher. Berlin Reed delivers a talk at the Book Larder, which starts at 6:30 and is free to the public. Register here.

Oola Dinner at Monsoon East
Monsoon East in Bellevue hosts Oola Distillery for a multicourse dinner with featured cocktails. Chefs Sophie and Eric Banh will make grilled shrimp and beef stew to pair with drinks made from citrus and rosemary vodka. The cost is $70 per person; reserve a spot by calling 425-635-1112.
