Now You Can Eat Beecher's Mac and Cheese While Shopping at U Village
Beecher's founder Kurt Dammeier's newest venture, a restaurant named Liam's after his third son, opened today.
According to a post Allecia Vermillion wrote back in June, the menu will be “focusing on adult-friendly platters of protein or vegetables, meant to pass around and share.” Dishes like kale caesar, Kurt’s tuna melt, and cioppino are intended to be sophisticated takes on familiar dishes—suitable for the sort of all-ages crowd that frequents U Village. And while I can imagine Dammeier makes a damn good tuna melt, I’m most excited about having access to Beecher’s mac and cheese—available with add-ons like bacon and pickled fennel or kale and Mama Lil’s peppers—without braving the crowds at either Pike Place Market or Husky Stadium. The extensive wine list and outdoor patio will surely be big draws as well.
Besides Beecher’s, Dammeier is also the brilliant mind behind Bennett’s, Pasta & Co, Maximus/Minimus, and Fraunhofer Meat & Fish. Liam’s will be open 11-10 daily, with happy hour between 4 and 6:30 every day (and all day on Tuesdays).
