Gene Juarez I Am Hopeful Runway Fundraiser
The Seattle salon hosts a runway show and fundraiser benefiting local nonprofit Hope Heart Institute.
Gene Juarez Salons and Spas hosts I Am Hopeful, a runway show and fundraiser benefiting the Hope Heart Institute, a local nonprofit focused on treating and preventing heart disease in the Northwest. The event, held at Experience Music Project on November 7 at 7, will highlight this season's styles and hair trends while raising money to promote women's heart health.
When we asked president and CEO Scott Missad what led the salon to pair up with the nonprofit he told us, "Gene Juarez is very passionate about our support for Hope Heart and its ongoing commitment to growing awareness around a heart-healthy lifestyle based on one simple fact: Heart disease kills more women in this country than all cancers combined. As a company of primarily women, we are dedicated to supporting local charities working on the issues that are important to our staff and our clients."
Ten local women who have been affected by heart disease will walk the runway, with guest appearances from the likes of Seattle Met style editor Laura Cassidy, author and actress Josie Bissett, and radio host Brooke Fox.
The salon hopes to raise $100,000, and is well on its way as VIP tickets to the November 7 event are already sold out. A limited number of $40 general admission tickets still remain.
