New Venue: Floor 13
We're pleased to introduce you to Pioneer Square's newest and most intimate wedding and event space. (And designer showroom.)
What holds 75 to 100 people, doubles as a designer/artist loft, faces the waterfront, and is already familiar to Matt Dillion and crew—you know, in case you were hoping to snag one of the city's hottest cheffing teams?
Floor 13 is Seattle's newest event space, and at 1,700 square feet it's also one of the most intimate. It's also one of the most stylish. And that makes it a great fit for one of the modern age's most worthwhile wedding trends: small, cozy celebrations—often on "off" days like Sunday afternoon or Friday night.
When there isn't a party at Floor 13 (which is actually on the third floor), Tamara Codor and Sterling Voss, the duo behind Codor Design, use it as their showroom, which means it's filled with one-of-a-kind furniture and home pieces that can compliment almost any decor style. Most notably, the new line of mirrors made from plastered found objects.
And hey, there's an idea: Let Floor 13 be your decor style.
And let Floor 13's "penthouse suite" (actually on the seventh floor) be your cocktail lounge. The upstairs annex has a killer, if small, deck that looks out on the shipping yards south of downtown, and, to the north, the Great Wheel and that whole scene.
And as for that name, Codor (who politely excused herself to field phone calls from bold-faced names inquiring about her interior services and decorative painting when I visited) told me it came to her in a dream. Many buildings don't have a 13th floor—some archaic holdover that avoids the "unlucky" number—but here we are embarking on 2013, and I'm inclined to see it as a good omen.
If you're planning a small, intimate affair, you'd advised to see this news as a good omen, too.
