Classes at the Intentional Table Are Now Happening
Kicking things off is an oyster clinic.
The latest addition to the Bainbridge Island food scene isn't a restaurant, no, but rather a quaint storefront at 124 Madrone Lane North. Inside is The Intentional Table.
At once a cooking school, specialty store, and launchpad for culinary excursions, the newly opened Intentional Table is unique in its model. Co-owner Zoe Bartlett describes it as a food and wine studio inspired by Northwest bounty. And if the event this coming weekend is any indicator, this food studio is destined for great things.
On January 19 Barlett and Linda Brandt will put on an oyster clinic featuring Brendan McGill of neighboring restaurant Hitchcock. Joining McGill is Bill Whitbeck (aka Oyster Bill) of Taylor Shellfish Farms and Adrienne Stacy of C&G Wine Imports. Plenty of eating and drinking is planned, of course, as is a rundown of essential how-tos like shucking and pairings.
Future events hold equal promise. On January 27 Greg Atkinson of also-neighboring Marche is scheduled. Next month we've got gluten-free doyenne Jeanne Sauvage and noted pastry whiz Tamas Ronyai. Find more classes and workshops on The Intentional Table website.
