Ha! Opening in Former Hunger Location
A brighter space and a Mexican-American menu mashup take over the Fremont Avenue address next month.
Now that Hunger is settling into its stylish new digs at the bottom of the hill, its original 4256 Fremont Ave N address is getting a makeover of Mexican tiles, ombre paint, old barn wood, and a bowling-lane bartop.
Alycia Prather and Al Chrismer, partners of both a business and personal nature, are planning a new neighborhood spot called Ha! Exclamation included. It’s a tribute to Prather’s forceful, easily triggered laugh. Spend approximately 0.05 seconds conversing with her and you’ll see what I mean.
The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. The menu is split between Mexican (enchiladas, burritos, and camerones del diablo) and American (think burgers and reubens).
The couple has worked in restaurants around Seattle for the past two decades, says Prather. The bar space at the front of the restaurant will do specialty cocktails, but the rest of Ha! will welcome families into its brighter-than-before space. Prather and Chrismer are shooting for a September 10 open, if the permit gods cooperate.
