IF EYES ARE the window to the soul, hair is a billboard for personal style. So does it follow that born-blond Ballardites, Capitol Hill top-bunned ones, asymmetrically engineered Belltown dwellers, and shaggy brunettes from Columbia City tell a story about the city’s aesthetic? Is this the same Seattle that stood proudly behind Ann and Nancy Wilson’s feathered center parts in the late ’70s? Does our dot-com culture mean we’ll never get past that unapologetically undone look? Are our pixie cuts as cute as they are sophisticated? We wanted to know, so we cut it up with world-famous colorists, salon bigwigs, updo artists, and regular everyday folk putting their best bobs forward.
