Barrio, Purple, Lot No. 3 Team Plan a New Cafe in Woodinville
It's not another Purple, but it is a few doors down.
Looks like Woodinville is ready to take its relationship with Larry Kurofsky to the next level. Owner of the Heavy Restaurant Group (Purple Cafe and Wine Bar, Barrio, Lot No. 3), Kurofksy along with his wife and partner Tabitha, announced today they have signed a lease for another venture in the same row as the 11-year-old Purple, the company's first establishment.
After Tully’s closed a few doors down from the wine bar, Kurofsky and the property’s landlord reached out to each other. “I wasn’t really looking for a space,” Kurofsky says. “But it was a natural fit [for both of us] and a great concept for the neighborhood.”
The concept is different from anything the group has done before; think casual cafe plus wine, beer, and spirits. The restaurant is still awaiting a name, but it will be open all day with counter service that fires up in the morning for coffee, biscuits and breakfast sandwiches, to a lunch menu with casual small plates and salads. Dinner will be all about comfort foods, similar to Lot No.3...and perhaps another notable Woodinville project in the works.
Unlike Purple, the new place will have a spirits license. Kurofksy says that between the wineries and numerous breweries that populate Woodinville, distilleries are now on the rise. The company plans to open the new concept in April 2013, which means some busy months ahead.
