Ski Flick One For the Road Premieres Thursday
They’re handing out free ski lift passes instead of popcorn at this one.
There are enough daredevil stunts and breathtaking slopes for everyone, since the film shows twice: at 5:30pm for everyone, and at 8pm for anyone old enough for a beer. The night also features guest appearances from snow-sport superstars Dylan Hood, Ian McIntosh and Dana Flahr. Better yet? They are doling out free ski lift passes to Mt. Bachelor and Stevens Pass to all in attendance. The truly lucky may end even up with one of the big prizes: skis from movie sponsor Atomic or a season pass from Stevens Pass.
The event and film come from production company Teton Gravity Research, which specializes in footage of extreme skiing and snowboarding. Their films follow the mountaintop exploits of up-and-coming athletes around the world. This film alone visits slopes in Jackson Hole, Macedonia, Montenegro, British Columbia, and Juneau.
Tickets are $15 in advance, and $18 at the door, and part of the proceeds will go to the company’s own Maggot Fund, an aid for all those injured through extreme mountain sport.
