Check out that loot! This photo comes courtesy of Seattle’s own cocktail genius Kathy Casey (Dish D’lish, Liquid Kitchen) who clearly scored big at last week’s Tales of the Cocktail, where she represented Seattle on two panels.

I asked Casey to tell me what she took from this year’s convention (in addition to the huge sack of booze treats) and here’s what she said:

“I learned how to make fake ice for cocktail photography shoots, that Cheryl Charming is a marketing goddess with her ice rings, that Eben Freeman (Tailor NY) is still my cocktail hero in creating interesting AND delicious cocktails. He lead the seminar on innovation and it was fantastic. I also learned that when attending Tales of the Cocktail to be sure to remember to eat, pace yourself, and drink plenty of water!”

“And” adds Casey. “don’t go to the Absinthe House after 2 am – it just means a headache.”

Words to live by.

Side note: unfortunately Zig Zag did not receive the award for best cocktail selection. Maybe next year.
